How it works

  1. Floor area = length × width.
  2. Add 10% waste for straight lay, 15% for diagonal or herringbone.
  3. Boxes = total square feet ÷ coverage per box, rounded up.

Example: A 15 × 12 ft room is 180 sq ft; with 10% waste that's 198 sq ft — 9 boxes at 22 sq ft each.

Frequently asked questions

How much extra flooring should I buy?

10% for standard layouts, 15% for diagonal or patterned layouts and rooms with many corners.

Should I keep spare boxes?

Keep at least one unopened box for future repairs — later batches may not match.
