Wallpaper calculator

Count rolls the way decorators do — by strips — so pattern matching never leaves you short.

Strips needed26
Strips per roll4

How it works

  1. Strips needed = total wall width ÷ roll width, rounded up.
  2. Strips per roll = roll length ÷ (wall height + pattern repeat), rounded down.
  3. Rolls = strips needed ÷ strips per roll, rounded up. Doors and windows are not deducted, which leaves a safety margin.

Example: Walls totalling 44 ft wide and 8 ft high with 20.5 in × 33 ft rolls and no repeat need 26 strips, 4 per roll = 7 rolls.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy an extra roll?

Yes — buy one spare from the same batch number in case of damage or future repairs.

What is a pattern repeat?

The vertical distance before the design repeats. Larger repeats waste more paper per strip.
